Managing classifications

Platform administrators may define a set of classifications from which Covata users can choose when sharing files.

Classifications allow Covata users to restrict the ability to share files to a specific group of users. Classifications can be associated with individual user accounts, or for easier administration, associated with a user group.

To add a new classification:

For security reasons, classifications cannot be edited after that have been saved.

  1. Click the 'Classifications' option in the Covata Administration interface.
  2. Click the Add New button and specify the following information:
    • Name: This classification name will be exposed to users of the Safe Share application.
    • Description (optional): A longer description that provides more information about the classification (e.g., the purpose or group it is intended for).
  3. Click Save to add the new classification.
